groundcover to 6” Pau o Hiaka is a salt tolerant ground cover and member of the Morning Glory family found growing along the shoreline. The 2” folded leaves can be with or without hairs. The small flowers are bluish-white to white.
The leaves and stems were dried and made into tea or mixed with Coconut and eaten. It could also be used medicinally as a laxative, for aches and pains and cuts.[1]
